Wartime Novelty

The 4-star general took a fall just ahead of the Benghazi hearings regarding the 9/11/12 attacks that cost a US Ambassador, and three other Americans their lives.  The media remained focused on the former CIA director's affair, diverting attention from the case of Benghazi.  The Daily Beast published an article from Newsweek on its website from 10/29/12, "Was Benghazi Attack on U.S. Consulate an Inside Job?"  One might look to "Lucy" for a solution on such a conspiracy theory.  She raked in a little more than five cents from her involvment in the scandal, and their affair.

His instrument may have been more finely tuned than his awareness, as to what was evolving.  All conspiracy theories deserve some depth.  She wrote a biography on the man entitled, "All In."  If Benghazi was an inside job, it wasn't going to happen without distracting the head of the CIA.  If she was in on it, one might say she was a good candidate for the job.  Attractive, flirtatious, with eyes only for him, she authored the book on his personal side.  If he was focused on her, then he wasn't focused on them.  Christopher Stevens is the first U.S. Ambassador to lose his life in the line of duty since 1979.

"You fascinate me..."  One can imagine the content of her emails as they were uncovered by the FBI.  If she wanted to bring the affair out in the open, she would need to threaten another socialite to launch an investigation.  If the affair was being investigated for more that a year, it seems a little odd that it would surface as news just before the hearings of a scandal that is as Senator McCain puts it, "Watergate."

There was a bit of talk regarding the Benghazi affair during the elections.  President Obama was said to have left out the word "terrorism" during his statement from the Rose Garden on 9/12/12.  He responded during the debate with "get the transcripts."  A few republicans have suggested he should have mentioned al-Qaida, but instead he blamed an Islamist Militia.  The Islamist Militia, Ansar al-Shariah has ties to al-Qaida.  Newsweek suggests the attack came from inside the consulate, due to the many holes in the chain of events, and the lack of evidence suggesting an outsider.

"Lucy" claims to be "devastated" by the damage she caused, but did "Schroeder" ever really notice her?  If she was a feint to him and the protests were a feint to those guarding the consulate and the affair is a feint to the public just in time for the Benghazi hearings, well then we must expect something much larger to unfold.  Each feint was a deception, which leads to the question of, "Who is the real target?"

Knowledge is Power

To start, chalk up a few of the new laws.  Marijuana is now legal in Colorado and Washington, and you don’t even need a note from the doctor.  California public school lessons will begin acknowledging the efforts of gays and lesbians, as well other minorities and their accomplishments in history.  Yet opponents are already repealing, or at least requesting that the children be allowed to miss school on that day.  For every step forward, there is a step back it seems.

To keep everything even we have the president on the left, the house makes up the right, and all the folks in black robes sit at the top.  As each one has their own angle, there is not one corner that holds more power than the next.  It keeps one branch from having too much power, or accomplishing too much of their own agenda.

The triangle was lifted on November 6, allowing the voters to break the rack and scatter balls.  Game over until 2016 on the executive branch.  However, in 2014 we’ll have another shot at the legislative branch.  Those we select to represent our state, play a part in electing the president and confirming the judiciary branch.  Choose wisely.

Democrats and Republicans are scattered about our ballots.  For each hole we fill, we’re that much closer to sinking the eight. As of today, that means 4 more years for President Obama, our third two term president in two decades.  For all those complaining, keep in mind who you voted into the senate, as these are the woman and men who make up the Electoral College.

The pocket pool we’ve seen from the house over the last four years was more of an individual sport, than a two player game.  There was the huge delay in passing the “First Respondent’s bill” near the end of 2010. The "Veterans’ Jobs bill” was recently blocked, and the talk of the house has remained on tax breaks effecting those in the house, rather than the ones who save lives and fight for our freedom. At least they keep the most important issues in the forefront.  These cue balls are necessary though, to put another set of important balls in the white house.

If you ever wonder who’s calling the shots, one must take into consideration the media plays on the political arena.  Use of spin may be the best way to place one in a better position for the next shot. Fox and friends, “Arrrgh you kidding?” segment, because President Obama was talking with a man in pirates outfit as opposed to focusing on Israel.  “So much for peace in the middle east,” says Steve Doocy.  CNN did a full segment on how they are fairer and more balanced than FOX against Obama, or MSNBC on Romney.  They just want everyone to know you can get the real news from them, and the others are just cable talk shows as CNN discussed in their segment, “MSNBC’s War on Romney.”  The media kept the run to the white house tight, no matter what their spin.

When one misses a shot, the next player takes over.  As for now though, the new rack appears to look a whole lot like the old rack, with the small difference that the democrats bought themselves a few more seats in the senate.

My banter was on current affairs and ran from 2011 - 2016. I currently enjoy writing satire and horror shorts.

I chose themes to run against each current event to bring some entertainment to my Banters. I began writing the banter in February 2011, and wrote my last in February 2016.
