Ever-Changing Healthcare Law

The purpose of most media these days is to influence the masses, rather than get the facts out there.  For those who are looking for news, it’s safe to assume that reporters have geared their information towards pushing their own initiative as opposed to distributing actual news.  We can determine a station or periodicals agenda just by viewing more than one headline.  We are forced to decipher between truth and deception, all while trying to avoid the end result of finding ourselves led into a place with no way out.

Senator Lamar Alexander of Tennessee released an ad for the 2014 race that displays him arguing with the president that premiums will go up.  The president stops him with, “this is an example of where we need to get our facts strait.”  The ad cuts away from the argument completely to announce “the President and FOX news confirm that Lamar was right.” (Lamar Leads the Conservative Fight Against Obamacare, 2013) If you’re going to lie, lie big.  Has there ever been a view that President Obama and FOX news agreed on?

For the real voice of doom, we turn to Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, who has suggests the destruction has barely begun with failure to launch healthcare.gov and cancelled policies.  He continues to inform us how Obamacare has progressed beyond the point of no return, advising millions of cancelled plans cannot be reinstated.  According to Senator Johnson, Obama is not only responsible for the cancellation of individual health insurance plans, but he also ran over your dog. (Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) Delivers Weekly GOP Address on Obamacare's Failures, 2013)  Is the family pet even covered under the Affordable Healthcare Act?

Undermining the fate of the masses begins with the leaders.  Before we follow anyone over a cliff, we must decide which cliff to jump off.  The headlines from some leading sources may help us form a decision.  Fox News – “Senators push bill to prevent insurance industry ‘bailout’ over ObamaCare.”  Or should we follow CNN – “Second-term woes: Obamacare, Katrina, Iran-Contra.”  I would have thought that Obama was too young to be associated with the Iran-Contra Affair.  Oh-no, did they confuse Obama with Reagan?  Maybe will see some light at the end of the tunnel with Forbes.  “A New 1 Percent: The Tiny Sliver of Obama Care ‘Winners’.”  MSNBC offers the spin of blame the republicans with the article, “This is sabotage, plain and simple.”  Last but not least, Reuters’ informs, “Some cyber security experts recommend shutting Obamacare site.”  But how do we decide which one is the right one?

Don’t believe everything you hear or read.  Get the facts, for this we have obamacarefacts.com.  Don’t be discouraged by the vague answers to looming concerns.  This site is in favor of ObamaCare, after a visiting the headlines, this site may leave you with more questions than answers.  Anyone else still confused?

My banter was on current affairs and ran from 2011 - 2016. I currently enjoy writing satire and horror shorts.

I chose themes to run against each current event to bring some entertainment to my Banters. I began writing the banter in February 2011, and wrote my last in February 2016.
